System 2000

SYSTEM 2000 from Energy Kinetics is the first fully integrated heat and hot water system on the market. Unlike conventional boilers, SYSTEM 2000 is activated only when you need heat or hot water. After heat or hot water needs are satisfied, System 2000 runs an energy recovery cycle that puts nearly every ounce of heat left in the boiler to work for you. SYSTEM 2000 remains cold when there is no heat needed, which keeps fuel dollars from being wasted.

AFUE Ratings

AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) ratings measure the amount of heat converted by your boiler into useful space heat in proportion to the amount of heat energy that is lost up the chimney. A standard set by the U.S. Department of Energy, AFUE accurately records this loss, but evaluating boilers based on the AFUE rating alone can lead to inaccurate claims. What AFUE does not take into account, however, are other more costly inefficiencies.

For example, AFUE does NOT measure:

• Jacket Loss – Poor insulation on the boiler allows heat to escape constantly. This means you’re losing heat to your garage or basement.
• Standby Loss – Conventional boilers run day and night to keep hot water available, even when no one needs it. This is “standby loss,” and it’s a terrible waste of energy. On a typical high mass boiler, standby losses are the inevitable result of heating the equivalent of over 1000 pounds of iron, every time the system turns on.
• Draft Regulator and room air loss sucks warm air out of your home to control chimney draft for the boiler. System 2000 uses outside air for combustion and does not have a draft regulator.
• Bath, Laundry, Faucets – AFUE doesn’t measure how efficiently your boiler makes hot water for bath, laundry and faucets, typically 25 to 35% of your heating costs! AFUE ratings evaluate only energy wasted from boiler heat that’s lost up the chimney.

Demand Fired & Cold Start Boilers – While boilers with heavily insulated tanks may store plenty of hot water, they also waste significant energy. So the logical conclusion is: Don’t choose a home heating system based on it’s AFUE rating. Instead, inquire about the system’s real efficiency rating.

Hot Water

Because System 2000 is an integrated system, it can produce tremendous amounts of hot water for far less money than conventional boilers. In fact, System 2000 produces enough hot water to run the dishwasher, the washing machine and several showers all at once – that’s virtually impossible with conventional boilers. System 2000 combines three high performance components: a high capacity hot water storage tank, a low mass high efficiency boiler that produces more hot water per hour, and a stainless steel hot water heat exchanger. System 2000 does not have a separate water heater. It produces all the heat needed to warm your living spaces and simultaneously meets all your hot water requirements. That’s efficiency!

Digital Energy Manager

This is the “smart” central control of the system. It continuously monitors heat requirements and directs output where it is needed. The digital energy manager controls heat in active areas of the home without wasting energy in unoccupied rooms. The system’s energy converter is flushed with cool water after the boiler cycles off, which saves energy that would otherwise be lost.

Zoned Comfort

The System 2000 Digital Manager controls multiple zones and provides nearly endless hot water. This flexibility means you can control the energy used to heat unoccupied rooms while living areas stay cozy and comfortable. You can also expand zones to accommodate changing life styles or home renovations.

Installation

Homeowners who plan to save money by converting from expensive electric heat or heat pumps find themselves up against a brick wall with the high cost of chimney construction. Installing System 2000’s unique combustion chamber, combined with 10 feet of heat transfer passage, means that gases leave the system clean and relatively cool. They can be safely vented directly through the wall even at yard level. No need for costly chimney construction. System 2000’s stainless steel vent works similarly to your dryer vent and features a patented air cooled surface that’s never hot to the touch.

Lifetime Limited Warranty

Energy Kinetics provides the best pressure vessel and the best warranty in the industry: A lifetime limited warranty and a 10 year labor allowance for residential pressure vessels. The warranty may even be transferred to a new owner within the first five years after the installation. The solid state Digital Energy Manager carries a full 5 year warranty and an extended protection plan for the life of your SYSTEM 2000.
